A traveler on the way to Queensland has had a large trailer full of equipment and horse feed stolen from the side of the Newell Hwy 20km south of Coonabarabran at approximately 7pm on the 20th of December. The hitch that attached the trailer to the horse float truck had broken and the owner was forced to leave it on the side of the road while he took the horses into town to tend to their needs. Returning after only 90 minutes the owner found that the trailer had been stolen.
The trailer was full of horse feed,(Lucerne hay, wheelie bins full of pellets), blue plastic drums full of dog food, a Hawkesbury river saddle, large yellow truck tarp, air compressor in a white tool box mounted on the front of the trailer, a jack, orange and a yellow extension cords, dog chains, wire dog muzzles, a toolbox full of tools. The trailer is lined with rubber and has a door that swings out or slides across. The trailer is a ’93 Hiland Box Trailer and has Victorian registration plates X10857.
