The passing pf legislation to lease 49% of the state’s electricity wires and poles will mean the financing for a $20 billion infrastructure plan for NSW will go ahead. This project will include improvements to the Coonabarabran sewerage system. In addition works will be scoped to improve the town drinking water system around Timor dam. Already announced is the funding for the town bypass that will remove traffic from the town centre by routing it through a new connection to the east.
Kevin Humphries, member for Barwon said projects in regional areas are a priority and money will be released later in the year to fund them.
“This funding, which is additional to the amounts already committed under Restart NSW, is about improving water quality, water standards as well as providing significant economic stimulus into the west.”
