Member for Parkes, Mark Coulton, wielded a silvered shovel to break ground on the new Rural Fire Service fire control centre in Coonabarabran. The centre, which includes a helipad, will be large enough to accommodate the amount of personnel needed should another Wambelong sized fire occur. During the Wambelong fire marquees were used to create the extra space needed for the additional volunteer firefighters that came from around the state to assist.

The new centre will cost $3 million with the tender for construction closing on August 7th.

Happy smiles all round on social media with Mark Coulton ground breaking for the new Coonabarabran Fire Control Centre
