Last Thursday a local woman out walking her dog in Hawkins Rd, close to Timor Rd, noticed something wrapped in a purple and white sheet. On investigation she found the sheet was wrapped around a dead black and white dog of undetermined breed. There was a great deal of blood and the woman surmised the dog had been shot as there were no other signs of trauma. The woman then went to social media to see if she could either find the owner or someone who knew what happened to somebody’s pet but received no response and so later that evening reported the animal’s condition and whereabouts to the police. The police said they would notify the council to pick up and dispose of the body.
This morning, 5 days after reporting, the woman checked to see whether the dog’s body had been removed and found it was still laying where she first saw it on Thursday.
