The Bureau of Meteorology has temperature records that cover the last 106 years and Coonabarabran, like most of Australia, broke all records for heat over the month of October.

The highest recorded temperature in October for Coonabarabran was 32.3 with the mean highest temperature for the month being 26.9.

The Young Farmers of NSW pushed for changes that reflected climate change at this year’s NSW Farmers Association Conference. With further hotter, drier seasons predicted and longer drought periods, farmers are having to adapt to the conditions and the Young Farmers also believe that ensuring a move to renewable energy sources will help minimise further changes.
