Coonabarabran police patrolling on the first day of Operation Arrive Alive clocked a 35 year old Queensland man driving a white Commodore sedan doing 179km/h in a 100km/h zone on the Golden Highway near Cassilis. The car also contained the man’s wife and two children.

The man’s license was instantly suspended and he was issued with a traffic infringement notice for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h.

Police ask that everyone obey the speed limits and drive to the conditions over the holiday break.
