As with last year, favourable conditions for bushfires are predicted for most of NSW for the rest of 2016. The Southern Australia Seasonal Bushfire Outlook 2016 was released today and points out that every month of this year so far has Australia’s national mean temperature above the long term average. Even though higher rainfall due to El Nino ending is also predicted, that brings the growth of more fire fuel.
Early work on ensuring your property is bushfire ready is always advised by the RFS. Keeping potential fire fuel to a minimum and ensuring plans and fire equipment are tested and up-to-date. Bushfire danger period for adjoining shires started early on the 1st of August this year.
