A woman has died after a motor-home left the road and rolled north of Coonabarabran yesterday afternoon.

About 3.10pm (Thursday 13 October 2016), a 78-year-old man was driving the motor-home south on the Newell Highway, about 30km north of Coonabarabran, when the vehicle crashed.

His passenger, a 76-year-old woman was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for critical injuries but died at the scene.

The Newell Hwy was closed for several hours as the Accident Investigation Squad performed their duties.

The driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Mudgee Local Area Command attended and are investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
